Ms Sandra Baki is a Civil Engineer (NTUA, Greece, 2000), specialising in Hydrology and Environmental Management (MSc, Imperial College London, United Kingdom, 2001). For the past 4 years she has been working as a research associate at the NTUA, in the Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Department, where she is also carrying out her PhD research on the design and optimization of water - energy systems with an emphasis in decentralised system technologies. Sandra has ten years’ experience in research and consultation, mainly focusing on hydrologic, hydraulic and eco-hydrologic catchment modelling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), water resources management, flood risk assessment and environmental impact assessment studies. She has participated in 6 research projects and has 7 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings. Sandra has also worked as an Engineering Hydrologists for three years in WS Atkins, a major UK consultancy; during her employment she took part in a wide range of projects for various UK water companies and the UK Environment Agency. She has also collaborated with non-governmental organisations in developing countries concerning water, sanitation and environmental issues.
